I agree with Laura in that this is a great topic! I personally do not have any opinion on the use of smartphones by nurses but I would be very interested in learning more about this topic. There are so many new apps that nurses can access relevant and up-to-date evidence to support nursing care, however, I can also see how the use of smartphones can be a major distraction. In keeping with Laura’s feedback, I definitely agree that your thesis could be more concise. In the body of your paper, you could identify the impact of confidentiality, distraction, and the overall impact on patient care to support your thesis statement.

    Hello bljackson
Thank you for your feedback on my thesis statement. I believe it is an interesting topic because so often I see nurses at my place of employment with their phones in their pockets. The phone will then send a notification; the nurse will excuse their selves to check the message. It takes away patient-centered care. On another occasion, a nurse took a selfie, and the patient was partially in the picture, and she posted it on Instagram with a hashtag “work life”. Although the hospital has no cell phone policy in place, there need to be consequences in place for these actions. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts on my thesis.

    Thanks
